They're nicely produced editions so I hope they do well - I'm certainly looking forward to reading them.Michael Waltershttp://www.theshadowwalker.comnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7291823984059320518.post-50773157841298501522011-09-02T17:50:06.653+01:002011-09-02T17:50:06.653+01:00A good one, but one in which it is rather easy to ...A good one, but one in which it is rather easy to figure out the culprit. I guess at the time it was one of those verboten character types to cast in the role of murderer and was probalby a huge shock to the readers years ago. But in these utterly corrupt times the shock is absent and the murderer - for me - rather obvious.

Charles Dutton, an American pulp writer whose books were published in both the US and UK, was writing about serial killers - or multiple murderers as they preferred to call them - as early as the mid 1920s. See Streaked with Crimson (1929) for the most blatant example. You can read my brief overview of Dutton's work here. On that page you will also find links to reviews for four of his books.J F Norrishttps://www.blogger.com/profile/06473487417479127354noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7291823984059320518.post-71234939099937272742011-09-02T15:27:13.760+01:002011-09-02T15:27:13.760+01:00I do not know the work of these people, but the bo...I do not know the work of these people, but the book sounds interesting and your review reads well.
