It's just that the BL does not actually have every single book it should have. Why this is the case, I don't know, but I suppose it's true of all archival resources. Helen mentions that some of the books Punshon published under his own name appear to be missing, too. That's the only way I can imagine it not being in the British Library, since it's a legal deposit library. I vaguely remember reading of a famous wildlife artist (probably Audubon) publishing his work in sections to get around the obligation to give free copies to the various libraries that had a right to them.nigel.holmeshttps://www.blogger.com/profile/00387290866972027637noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7291823984059320518.post-39071903300084733372015-12-05T13:53:11.599+00:002015-12-05T13:53:11.599+00:00Martin, thanks for the great review of 'Docume...Martin, thanks for the great review of 'Documentary Evidence.' Glad you found it 'interesting' - much as we did. I agree it stands as a curious exercise amid the Punshon oeuvre. Your point about Sayers' 'Documents in the Case' is very well put - I had missed that connection entirely. <br />For our part at Ramble House, we obviously rather like E. R. Punshon, but particularly relish the later Bobby Owen novels.Gavin L.
