I am amazed at how prolific you are with a challenging day job to do too. I have yet to read your Harry Devlin books but I love Hannah Scarlett. I hope she make it to the small screen one day.Juxtabookhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/17102279698993288454noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7291823984059320518.post-39633490394789001242011-09-01T22:41:50.675+01:002011-09-01T22:41:50.675+01:00Happy anniversary, and I am looking forward to fol...Happy anniversary, and I am looking forward to following your development for the next twenty years.Dorte Hhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/14535044092722418173noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7291823984059320518.post-15805204350144768622011-09-01T07:35:54.567+01:002011-09-01T07:35:54.567+01:00Hi Martin – Reading your recent posts, I see that ...Hi Martin – Reading your recent posts, I see that double congratulations are in order. To you, on reaching Year 20 as a crime novelist (you’ll have been an author for longer still, of course, with the law books). And to Catherine, on her tremendous A-level results and Oxford place. Congrats and very well done, both!

One thing I greatly applaud is that even after twenty years, with such brilliant novels as ‘Take My Breath Away’, ‘Dancing for the Hangman’, ‘Waterloo Sunset’ and ‘The Hanging Wood’ under your belt, you still regard yourself as learning your craft and remain determined to keep on improving. And of course I wonder what are the major lessons learned so far. Perhaps one of them – I’m thinking of ‘The Serpent Pool’ here – is that you don’t always have to work to a detailed synopsis but can give a story its head and allow it to grow in the telling, trusting in inspiration to see you through?

I shall keep my fingers crossed that your Devlin e-book discussions bear fruit. And hope you’ll give us a brand-new Devlin sometime too. Harry is one cool character, with the potential to attract a wide following, I think.

Look forward to following your progress in the years ahead.

All best, PaulPaul Beechnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7291823984059320518.post-79778530819855330472011-08-29T23:07:37.758+01:002011-08-29T23:07:37.758+01:00Thanks very much, everyone! Thanks very much, everyone!Martin Edwardshttps://www.blogger.com/profile/16082485795280777670noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7291823984059320518.post-42051016499342791892011-08-29T22:59:05.731+01:002011-08-29T22:59:05.731+01:00Wonderful.
