The United Kingdom , closely allied to America, remains outside the Nazi Empire, .

Having said this, I read SS-GB when it first came out. There is a brilliant and memorable moment in the book, but I will avoid spoilers. I am keenly following the TV version.

William Goldman referred to 'reversals' in his book on the Screen Trade. In my opinion, Deighton is adept at such reversals and SS-GB is an impressive example.RJShttps://www.blogger.com/profile/04679820043499491984noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7291823984059320518.post-3936642265826114582017-02-26T22:30:21.501+00:002017-02-26T22:30:21.501+00:00I haven't read the book, but actually enjoyed ...I haven't read the book, but actually enjoyed the first 2 episodes. Not a ...I confess to being under-whelmed with this. Not a patch on The Night Manager. A member of the resistance suddenly blurting everything out in the middle of the street as Sam Riley's character's way into that side of the plot was also not very believable. Great sets though and enough for me to want to watch next week.Juxtabookhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/17102279698993288454noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7291823984059320518.post-77172578688744546412017-02-20T13:22:21.577+00:002017-02-20T13:22:21.577+00:00Christopher, I have to admit that I did turn the v...Christopher, I have to admit that I did turn the volume up!Martin Edwardshttps://www.blogger.com/profile/16082485795280777670noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7291823984059320518.post-45858976811546398292017-02-20T12:07:38.650+00:002017-02-20T12:07:38.650+00:00If only they had made it audible, though...If only they had made it audible, though...Christopher Greaveshttps://www.blogger.com/profile/07920334128279638785noreply@blogger.com
