His short story collection, THRILLING STORIES OF THE RAILWAY (1912), is one of the great rarities of detective collecting (I've never seen a copy), but the reprint by Routledge in 1977 is easily obtainable. Mild, but agreeably mild.

There's one by him, Martin, called The Robbery at Rudwick House, I believe, that seems fantastically rare, so watch out for it! It's the only one I have never seen.

One of Whitechurch's books I recall is marred by the casual antisemitism sometimes seen in book (not just mysteries) of this era. Too bad coming from a minister though--and seemingly a quite genial one!vegetableducknoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7291823984059320518.post-87158162345844269232010-12-17T21:24:18.401+00:002010-12-17T21:24:18.401+00:00Interesting that you seem to have spotted the kill...Interesting that you seem to have spotted the killer before the author did.Evan Lewishttps://www.blogger.com/profile/07620731784654779358noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7291823984059320518.post-18384157976928984072010-12-17T16:08:01.805+00:002010-12-17T16:08:01.805+00:00Thank you for yet another interesting post, Martin...Thank you for yet another interesting post, Martin.agujahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/15857809123531088629noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7291823984059320518.post-41157082202098411562010-12-17T14:05:46.856+00:002010-12-17T14:05:46.856+00:00I'll have to check Ostara out.I'll have to check Ostara out.Georgehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/04546161337366365635noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7291823984059320518.post-70491252115049719372010-12-17T11:00:10.046+00:002010-12-17T11:00:10.046+00:00I haven't read this one--and I love country ho...I haven't read this one--and I love country house mysteries.
